TR Register Red Rose Group AGM
Antrobus Arms, 13 January 2008
More than 60 people attended the AGM which was opened by Steve Dyne.
Election of
committee
As Alun Jones had expressed a wish to retire it was necessary to elect a new leader. Chris Briggs was nominated by Ronnie Dyne and seconded by June Gaskell. As there were no other nominations, Chris Briggs was duly elected. As Chris Briggs was previously treasurer another treasurer then had to be elected. Martin Hill was proposed by David Rhodes and seconded by Alun Jones. As there were no other nominations Martin Hill was duly elected. Other members of the committee had indicated that they were happy to stand for another year and so the committee now consists of:-
| Group Leader | Chris Briggs |
| Treasurer | Martin Hill |
| Newsletter Editor | Clifford Foster |
| Website | Steve Dyne |
| Shows | Tony Shearin |
| Events |
Sandra
Baran |
At this point Chris Briggs took over the running of the meeting.
Presentation to Alun and Erica
Jones
Chris thanked Alun for his valuable contribution over the last 10 years. A sentiment which was supported by everyone. Alun and Erica were then presented with a gift from all the members of Red Rose Group. Bill Redrobe went on to say how under Alun’s leadership the group had gone from strength to strength.

Review of
2007
Chris Briggs reminded us all what a busy year 2007 was for the group.
Presentation of the
Red Rose Cup
This was presented to John and Ann Thorp by Alun, in recognition of the contribution made over the last 12 months.

Presentation of the Mike Conry Memorial
Plate
The Mike Conry Memorial Plate is awarded to the person(s) who organised the most memorable event of 2007 as voted for by the group members. The event that received most votes was the Chester boat trip, organised by Dave and Diane Godwin. The plate was presented to Dave and Diane by Cath Conry.

Newsletter
Clifford Foster is happy to continue as newsletter editor for another year but would like somebody to take over in 2009. One suggestion is that someone could be Clifford’s deputy for a year to eventually take over after a year. Anyone who is interested should contact Clifford.
Storage of colour
printer
The colour printer used to print the newsletter is at the present time stored in one of Chris Mitchell’s bedrooms. He is keen to get rid of it as he needs the space. Roger White offered to store the printer.
Storage/transport of
show equipment
Tony Shearin needs help in storing and transporting the equipment needed for the shows that are attended throughout the year. Anyone willing to help out please contact Tony.
Raffle
Help is needed to run the raffle when Ann can’t do it. Ronnie Dyne and Sandra Baran offered to help.
Open
Weekend
Chris asked for help in organising an open weekend which it is hoped will attract other groups to join us. Anyone interested in helping should contact Chris Briggs.
Any Other Business
Tony Shearin said he is happy to take input from other members on how to improve the stands for the shows. The Tatton shows are free but the Woodvale show would need payment up front in the future.
Alan Smith reminded the group about the Rolls Royce visit on 21 February. Places are limited and it is first come first served. Applications by email to Steve Dyne.
Sue Hughes explained that her garden had been accepted for the national garden scheme and would be open to the public 5 of July. Entry is £4.00 and all proceeds got to charity. For more details talk to Sue Hughes.
Chris Briggs said a special thank you to Ann Redrobe for all of her fundraising selling raffle tickets, Steve Dyne for
